Reupholstered Bedroom Chair
Front view of the completed chair with new cushion covers. Due to the size of the print on the fabric I opted to paint the legs which were originally covered with fabric.
Rear view and please take note of the alignment of the pattern from the front view to the back view. A fabric pattern like this will increase the yardage required.
Chair without the cushions. I am very happy with the way I was able to align the fabric's pattern.
Chair prior to reupholstering. The client had purchased the chair from a local consignment store where we had left business cards just a few days before.
Chair Restoration
This is the completed chair that I had restored. I had stripped and refinished the legs and arms. I installed new webbing and springs. For the fill I wanted to make an attempt at using more traditional materials and techniques. Finding the horse hair was a challenge and building up the seat was a real challenge but I am pleased with result especially for a first attempt.
This is the chair as it looked when I found it while cleaning out our basement. As beat up as it appeared it was still comfortable.
After stripping all the material off the frame of the chair I gave the frame a gentle twist and this is what I was left with. By falling apart as it did it actually made the job a bit simpler.

Detail showing how we were able to wrap the welting around the scroll work that was previously hidden by the old fabric.
Restored Toy Box
View of the outside of the toy box after restoration. This box has a lot of sentimental value to the client and she requested that we keep the appearance as close to the original as possible. I had a lot of fun with project. I almost felt guilty charging for it.

The inside of the toy box is completely rebuilt with new hinges, chain and inside walls.
The inside before stripping down to the frame which I discovered was an old (1950's ?) shipping crate complete with the cardboard sides that listed the contents of the crate.
Assorted Reupholstered Seats
A couple of old bar stools repainted and plusher seats.
A set of Dining Room chair seats that we had replaced the foam and recovered with new fabric. I got a lesson in matching plaids with these. The old cushion is in the front.
